The Development Planning Model program requires permanent stormwater pollution control measures that are decided during the planning or design phase of the project. Under this program, projects are required to incorporate BMPs in the design of the project. The following categories are subject to the new SUSMP requirements:

  • 100+ home subdivision
  • 10-99 home subdivision
  • 100,000+ square-foot commercial development
  • Automotive repair facilities
  • Retail gasoline outlets
  • Restaurants
  • Parking lots more than 5,000 square feet or more than 25 parking spaces
  • Hillside located single-family dwelling

These projects must incorporate stormwater controls. For more detail information on these requirements and ways to meet them, please refer to the “Development Best Management Practices Handbook – Part B Planning Activities”.
