ACCUMULATED PAINT and CHEMICALS  Residents can often times accumulate hazardous chemicals or paint products (e.g. thinners) unknowingly creating the potential for toxic runoff. Storing these products outdoors and uncovered leaves them subject to the elements. For example, rain events rainwater can cause these containers to overflow, spilling their contents onto lawns and pavement–and into the street, where it enters the storm drain system.
