Two Ways to Join America Recycles Day

November 15th is America Recycles Day, a national initiative of Keep America Beautiful, which is a nonprofit organization that has a wide variety of initiatives and programs with the goal of greener communities. America Recycles Day in particular, aims to educate Americans on the importance of recycling for our environment and our economy.

Here at LA Stormwater, we believe in the mission of Keep America Beautiful and we believe in recycling as one of the many small steps we can all take to help prevent stormwater pollution and to improve our environment as a whole. There are two easy ways you can get involved:

  1. Take the Pledge – More than 70,000 people have taken it as of Monday, November 13. All you have to do is commit to recycling one (or many) type(s) of trash. Take the Pledge.
  2. Attend an Event – Enter your location and attend an event to see what events are near you. You can recycle electronic waste, listen to a lecture, craft new items out of your old materials, attend a fair and more.

Keep America Beautiful has something for everyone! Check out the Los Angeles affiliate Keep Los Angeles Beautiful. Click here to learn more.

Although America Recycles Day comes once a year, recycling is an everyday pursuit! Let us know how you are celebrating today and every day to make Los Angeles a better place to live, breathe, and play.
