DEFINITION
"Restaurant" means a facility that sells prepared foods and drinks for consumption, including stationary lunch counters and refreshment stands selling prepared foods and drinks for immediate consumption (SIC Code 5812-Eating Places).
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Peak Storm Water Runoff Discharge Rate: Post-development peak storm water runoff discharge rates shall not exceed the estimated pre-development rate for developments where the increased peak storm water discharge rate will result in increased potential for downstream erosion.

Provide storm drain system Stenciling and Signage (only applicable if a catch basin is built on-site). |

Properly Design Outdoor Material Storage Areas (if included).
- Must be placed in an enclosure or bermed area (secondary containment) with minimum berm height or 1/2 inch minimum.
- Must be paved to contain leaks and spills.

Properly Design Trash Storage Areas (if included).
- Must be screened or walled to prevent off-site transport of trash.
- Must be paved to mitigate spills.

Provide proof on ongoing BMP Maintenance (only applicable if a structural BMP is installed). |

Design Standards for Structural or Treatment Control BMPs:
Post-construction Treatment Control BMPs are required to incorporate, at minimum, either a volumetric or flow-based treatment control design or both, to mitigate (infiltrate, filter or treat) storm water runoff on site. |
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Indoor equipment/accessory wash areas must be equipped with a grease trap and properly connected to a sanitary sewer. Permit for sewer connection will be ewquired from the City's Bureau of Sanitation-Industrial Waste Management Division. |

If the wash area is to be located outdoors, it must be equipped with a grease trap and rain diversion system, covered, paved, have secondary containment (berm height shall be 1/2 inch) and connected to the sanitary sewer. A plumbing permit from the Department of Building & Safety will be required for the grease trap. Permit for sewer connection will be required from the City's Bureau of Sanitation-Industrial Waste Management Division

Store trash dumpsters under a covered area with drains routed to the sanitary sewer, or use water-tight dumpsters with lids.
